
Carol Lynley, born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942 and passed away on September 3, 2019 was an American actress who was best known for her roles as Blue Denim (1959), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was the daughter of an Irish father and a New England mother. Her first job was as a child model prior to beginning to pursue acting. She was awarded the Theatre World Award in 1956-57 for her role in The Potting Shed. Lynley's film career started in 1958 when she appeared in the Disney movie The Light in the Forest. Holiday for Lovers (1959), Blue Denim (1959) followed. In 1959 she was nominated to win the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer - Female in the movie The Light in the Forest. One year later she was again nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer - Female.
